Cooking Up New Kitchenware: A Sustainable Approach to Kitchenware Production

In an era where sustainability is becoming increasingly important, we are proud to
announce our active collaboration with a leading American kitchenware supplier to
produce innovative kitchenware parts. Our commitment to quality and safety is
unwavering, as evidenced by our strict adherence to the regulations set forth by the
United States Food and Drug Administration (FDA) and the European Union, including the
European Commission Regulation (EU) No. 10/2011. These regulations are designed to
ensure that our materials are safe for food contact, providing peace of mind to both
consumers and manufacturers. We are dedicated to delivering products that exceed
industry expectations.

The kitchenware parts are crafted from a diverse range of advanced materials, each
selected for its unique properties and benefits. At the forefront of our o􀆯erings is our
OKOplastics, which includes durable bioplastics such as OKO-ABS, OKO-PP, OKO-PE,
and OKO-PA. Unlike other bioplastics, our OKOplastics are specifically designed for a
variety of applications. They provide improved processability, exceptional strength,
higher temperature resistance, and antibacterial properties, with the flexibility to be
either heavier or lighter than traditional bioplastics. This makes them the perfect choice
for kitchenware production, where food safety and temperature resilience are paramount.
For instance, our OKO-ABS material meet the volatile organic matter (VOM) emission
limits outlined in the Recommendations on Food Contact Materials by the German
Federal Institute for Risk Assessment (BfR), a standard that their traditional plastic
counterparts fail to achieve. They preserve their functional properties, allowing for a
considerably wider range of applications compared to conventional plastics.

These innovative materials serve as a sustainable alternative to traditional virgin fossilfuel-
based plastics, significantly reducing our environmental footprint. According to life
cycle analysis, our materials can reduce the product's carbon footprint by up to 80%. A
key advantage of the new kitchenware components made from our materials is their
exceptional processability, which allows for easy molding and shaping into diverse
designs. This versatility encourages creativity and innovation in kitchenware design,
enabling us to cater to the changing demands of consumers who desire both
functionality and style in their kitchen products.

As we continue to push the boundaries of innovation in the plastic industry, our
commitment to providing high-quality bio-plastic materials remains steadfast. We
recognize the importance of aligning our products with the values of modern consumers,
who increasingly prioritize environmental responsibility in their purchasing decisions.
Our materials not only achieve a sophisticated and high-class matte finish that elevates
aesthetic appeal, but they also offer sharper and more vibrant colors compared to
traditional plastics. By focusing on sustainability and performance, we are not just
creating plastic for kitchenware; we are contributing to a more sustainable future, one
innovative product at a time.

What does OKOsix do?
OKOsix is a featured green material startup at Hong Kong Science and Technology Park.
We tackle the plastic crisis and climate change by replacing fossil-based plastics in
various applications with our cost-e􀆯ective, 90% carbon-saving, and
disposable/durable biobased materials.

OKOsix makes:

  • Fully and truly biodegradable OKOmers for making various compostable
disposable products including bags, medical masks / gowns, drapes, cosmetic
    masks and also hard device frames;
  • Recyclable green plastics (OKO-PE, OKO-PP, OKO-ABS…) for durable products in
packaging, automotive, construction, consumer goods, electronics and
    electrical appliances etc.

OKOsix also offers service to upgrade recycled plastic materials, improving the value of
recycled plastics, unlocking more profitability for different parties.

From nature to nature, to a greener future.
